Why did I create BeGreat.com?
There have always been two of me. The average me and the great me. Most of the time the average me is in charge of my life. I am not complaining. I like the average me. He has taken good care of me all these years. He’s usually happy with the way things are. He goes with the flow. But once in a while the great me shows up and takes charge. I like the great me better. He is smart, creative, fearless. The Great me takes action. The Average me dreams. The great me risks. The average me thinks safety first. The great me has courage. The average me is careful. The great me is led by love. The average me by fear. I’ve done well so far but I know I can do much more and fulfill more of my potential if I can only get my great self to show up more often.
I’m not a guru, an expert or a motivational speaker. I enjoy sharing with people what I’ve learned. I guess I am an educator. I don’t know much but, I’ve figured out a few things about myself so far. I know that the great me always takes over when it has three things: 1. I am absolutely sure what I want 2. Figures out how to get it and 3. I have a few believers in my corner that support and push me. So I decided to build a website around those 3 things, gaining knowledge, taking action, finding support and see what happens.
I hope that I can find other people who feel the way I do. I don’t know; maybe we can help each other become great. Maybe we can create our own positive corner of the web. Maybe we can share our knowledge and educate each other. Maybe we can show each other how to take action; figure out what works and what doesn’t. And most importantly, maybe we can support each other and help each other move forward. Maybe we can help one another be great and collectively make a great impact. A place where we can learn, teach, share, help each other become great. I don’t know if this is going to work but, I think my great self would love that. Maybe your great self would love this kind of environment too and show up more often in your life.

More about me
My family ran away from a war torn country when I was thirteen. After years of emigrating from one country to the next, I arrived in the United States at the age of seventeen with little to no money in my pockets and barely spoke a word of English. I put himself through school while working as a cashier and stock boy to not only support myself, but my parents and my brother. I graduated from Cal State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering with a specialty in digital communication. I worked for a top aerospace company for five years and was involved with two satellite programs while working on my Masters Degree at USC. But after doing a lot of soul searching I became inspired by a new found love for human potential, self-improvement sciences, and an inner calling to move toward management / leadership opportunities. I wanted to work more with people rather than machines. In hopes of making a more positive impact on humanity I left my graduate program, gave notice to my boss and left my comfortable and secure life for an unknown, unpredictable and challenging one.
The next thirteen years were full of difficult and yet rewarding adventures. Starting from the bottom as a sales rep for an internet infrastructure company I moved my way up to a management position. A great but risky opportunity came my way. I joined a small new start-up with fifteen employees. I eventually became the COO and a managing partner of this successful 120 employee e-commerce corporation. Five years later the company was purchased by a large internet marketing company.
For the last seven years I have been a Senior Executive leading the sales, business development and operation teams for a few manufacturing and ecommerce companies based in Los Angeles. I am also currently consulting to executives and working on a few personal projects of which BeGreat.com is one.
I also enjoy giving back and serving my local community. For close to a decade now, I have been involved with multiple local charities/non-profits and have served as the director of individual development for one of them. I have been studying self-improvement techniques, motivation theory, and human potential sciences for close to 20 years now. I have read more than 200 books on these subjects, attended close to 100 classes & seminars, and completed 12 certified training programs. I love to share what I’ve learned with other people. I have taught classes and set up training sessions for the local community since 2005.
I am an avid reader and try to meditates daily. My life’s mission is simple and can be expressed in just seven words “Experience mindfully, grow consciously, and contribute positively.”
My favorite quote (especially in tough times) is by Dr. Victor Frankl
“What is to give light must endure burning”
